Their radicles (embryonic roots) were carefully covered. Their hypocotyls (embryonic shoots) uncertainly sitting weakly in the soil, bowed under the weight of their new cotyledons (seed leaves). Quantities of germinated seedlings were recorded.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-217\" title=\"Seedling Re-potting\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.katecorder.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/allotment401.jpg\" alt=\"Seedling Re-potting\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.katecorder.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/allotment401.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.katecorder.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/allotment401-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Seedlings germinated and re-potted: 13 Tomato <em>Zuckertraube<\/em>, 12 Tomato <em>Gardeners Delight<\/em>, 6 Tomato <em>Chadwick<\/em>, 4 Nastirum, 5 Cosmos, 2 Carnations, 5 Pot Marigold, 4 Flat Parsley, 5 Sweetpeas, 2 Sage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Not all the seedlings had sprouted. Only one onion had sent a slender green spike out of the soil.
